Due to extensive security measures before each flight, which are carried out on behalf of Schleswig-Holstein by the security firm Securitas, please arrive at Lübeck airport 2 hours before departure. To comply with international safety regulations, please do not pack any dangerous objects in your hand luggage, otherwise they will be removed before the flight for safety reasons.
The Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing has issued a list of prohibited items. To see the list, please click here.
Since 6th November 2006, new regulations relating to liquids in hand luggage have been in force for all flights from the European Union (EU). The new security regulations issued by the EU are to protect passengers from the threat of liquid explosives.
Liquids can only be carried in your hand luggage if they are in individual containers (tubes, cans, bottles) with a maximum capacity of 100 ml . The containers must be carried in a separate, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag of not more than one litre capacity. Each passenger is only allowed one bag. The plastic bag must be presented at the security checkpoint.
Liquids include gels, pastes, lotions, liquid/solid mixtures, the contents of pressurised containers, and include items such as toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, syrup, perfume, shaving foam, aerosols and any other items of a similar consistency.
Any special food required on board (e.g. baby food) and medicines may be carried without a plastic bag, but must be taken out of your hand luggage and screened separately at the security checkpoint. You will also be required to prove that they are needed (medical certificate).
Lipstick and lip balm does not have to be placed in a plastic bag.
